ISIS: "Convert to Islam or die" - Jihadists threaten Christians in latest video

The ultimatum came after the execution of 28 men identified as "worshipers of the cross belonging to the hostile Ethiopian Church"

Reports say in a video released April 19, an Islamic State spokesman gave Christians three choices: convert to Islam, submit to Islam, or be killed by Islam.

"We say to Christians everywhere, the Islamic State will expand … So whoever enters Islam will have security … But whoever refuses will see nothing from us but the edge of a spear. The men will be killed and the children will be enslaved, and their wealth will be taken as booty. This is the judgment of Allah and his messenger."

The ultimatum came after the execution of 28 men identified as "worshipers of the cross belonging to the hostile Ethiopian Church."

Worthy News reports that the Ethiopian Ministry of Information confirmed that the victims were Ethiopian migrant workers living in Libya.

This latest video comes about two months after IS executed 21 Coptic Christians from Egupt. Both the Egyptians and Ethiopians were executed on a beach in the same general area on the Libyan coast.

According to ISIS, the religious persecution of Christians is fundamental to the "religion of peace".

Citing the Koran and the Sunnah as well as Islamic scholars, IS declared Christianity to be a false religion and called the persecution of Christians (and Jews) a fundamental part of Islam that today has fallen out of fashion.

"Whoever does not consider the Jews and Christians to be disbelievers and does not hate them is not a Muslim," according to scholar Al Islam Ibn-Taymiyyah.

BREAKING: S’Africa suspends parliament to fight xenophobia

South Africa’s parliament will be suspended from next week to enable lawmakers to return to their constituencies to spread the anti-xenophobia message, in the wake of deadly attacks on African migrants.

The move is the latest in a series of government initiatives aimed at quelling weeks of violence against foreigners, which has left at least seven dead and driven thousands from their homes.

“We can?t carry on at Parliament like it is business as usual,? National Assembly speaker Baleka Mbete said, adding that lawmakers were being released to take part in “appropriate” activities.

A statement issued by the parliament stressed the need for tolerance.

Parliament adds its voice to the all-round condemnation of violence against foreign nationals, racism and forms of intolerance in our country,” it said.

“The dignity and respect we should give to all people was shown to us many times over by particularly the people of Africa during our own struggle for non-racialism, non-sexism, freedom and human rights,” it added.

On Friday, President Jacob Zuma — who has also condemned the violence — was due to meet leaders of organisations representing foreign nationals living in South Africa.

He has pledged to tackle anti-migrant sentiment and to address deep-rooted problems behind the attacks.

More than 20 years after the end of apartheid, however, high unemployment and a lack of opportunities for young blacks have made impoverished and crowded townships a powder-keg of frustration.

Immigrants have found themselves being blamed for taking jobs from locals and high crime rates.

Soldiers were deployed in Johannesburg this week to aid police in raids on hostels housing South African men who are accused of targeting migrants from Zimbabwe, Malawi, Mozambique and other African countries.

The violence has brought condemnation from the governments of those countries, which have bused home thousands of their nationals who fled the attacks.

The unrest has also been widely condemned in South Africa itself, with large turnouts at anti-xenophobia rallies in cities across the country.

Nigeria Elections 2015 Aftermath ‘Stay in your party,’ APC tells aspiring PDP defectors

The APC further urged aspiring defectors to stay in their party and rebuild it into a formidable opposition party.
The comments were made via a statement released by APC National Publicity Secretary, Lai Mohammed on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 in Abuja.
The statement reads:
“PDP leaders and members are falling over themselves shamelessly and swearing undying allegiance to the APC. Well, in case they did not get the message of the President-elect and our National Chairman, we want to repeat it in very blunt terms: PDP leaders and members, you are not welcome in APC.”
“Please stay in your party, but if – as we suspect – you cannot survive in opposition, then, take a walk, quit politics.”
“The truth of the matter is that the PDP is scared stiff of being in opposition. We don’t blame them as they have neither the capacity nor the commitment to be in opposition. A party that stood for nothing but looting and rent collection will naturally be afraid of being in opposition, where there is nothing to loot or rent to collect.”

NNPC Refunding $1.48bn After Claiming No Money Is Missing

The fear of General Buhari is sweeping across the corrupt institutions in Nigeria even before May 29.

Minister of Petroleum, Diezani Alison-Madueke, on Wednesday confirmed that the NNPC has started the process of refunding the $1.48bn unremitted fund into the Federation Account as recommended by an audit firm, PriceWaterHouse Coopers.

But before Buhari defeated Goodluck Jonathan, the same NNPC claimed that no money is missing.

PriceWaterHouse Coopers had in the report of its forensic audit report of the corporation recommended that the NNPC should refund the amount to the Federation Account.

Alison-Madueke however explained that the unremitted fund was owed by the NPDC for a block that had been assigned from the NNPC to the NPDC.

She said, “The PriceWaterHouse Coopers forensic audit that was done few weeks ago in his recommendation mentioned that $1.48bn was owed by the NPDC for a block that had hitherto been assigned from the NNPC to the NPDC which is its subsidiary.

“They felt that the right process would be that the NPDC will refund that money to the Federation Account. The NPDC has apparently started those refunds and it is also in discussion with the NNPC and the DPR on same. So the refund has actually began.”
