UEFA Considers All-Star Weekend, Including All-Star Match!

Reports emerging from Spain indicate that UEFA may be considering introducing an all-star game.
All-star games are a common feature in sports in the United states, with the Major League Soccer also having such a game.

According to Mundo, the all-star game could become a possibility in Europe in the future.
Teams would allegedly be split into Europe North (Premier League, Bundesliga, Russian Premier League, etc.) and Europe South (La Liga, Ligue 1, Serie A, etc.) to make two ultimate teams.

According to Mundo, no more than three players per club would be permitted, with all participants and managers being selected via Internet vote.

Girl Falls Down Tree, Meets Jesus And Miraculously Recovers From Rare Illness

A nine-year-old who fell 9m inside a hollow tree claims she ‘went to heaven and sat in Jesus’ lap,’ while unconscious,  Forth Worth, Texas, USA.

In December 2011, Annabel, now 12, was playing with her sisters Abigail, now 14 and Adelynn, now 10, near her house when she slipped and fell inside a hollowed-out tree. She hit her head three times and was knocked unconscious. Girls’ parents called a fire crew that managed to harness the girl to safety and took her to local hospital by helicopter.

Fearing the worst, medics prepped brain and spinal injury teams to stand by for Annabel’s arrival – but, incredibly, she survived without a scratch and even woke up ‘miraculously cured’ of a chronic childhood illness. Even more incredible were the stories Annabel began to share in the days afterwards.


She told her parents: “I went to heaven when I was in that tree. I sat in Jesus’ lap. He had a beautiful long white robe, dark skin and a big beard – kinda like Santa Claus, but not really.” Annabel also told her parents that the gates of heaven are made of gold and that Jesus had said to her it wasn’t her time

Mum Christy Beam says she beleives her girl:“This wasn’t like one of her long, spun-out recaps of a funny dream or movie she’d seen.”  Annabel’s father also commented on the incident saying: “I can’t explain what happened to her physically while she was in that tree. All I have to go on is the radiological data and the medical records from before and after. The proof is in the pudding. She wasn’t well before and now she is.”

At the moment Annabel doesn’t display any symptoms of pseudo-obstruction motility disorder, a rare incurable condition that had seen her in and out of hospital since 2008. The disorder meant she had to have a liquid diet, or only eat plain, soft foods. She also took ten different types of medication each day.

Nigeria’s Finance Minister, Dr Ngozi Okonjo- Iweala has come out today and said that the FG is still committed to ensuring the rescue of the abducted Chibok girls one year after their abduction.

She said this during a meeting with the representatives of the Chibok Community in Abuja on Tuesday, on the Safe School Initiative.

The minister was absent but was represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Mrs Anasthesia Nwaobia.

She said that the meeting was part of efforts to let the community know that the rescue of the girls, reconstruction of schools and making Chibok safe remained top priority of the government.

“Today is a day that marks the first anniversary of the abduction of our brave girls in Chibok; they were callously taken away from us and family with the aim of depriving them of having quality education.


“Their absence will create a vacuum in space but they are in our minds,’’ she said and expressed the hope that the girls would be rescued.

She said that the initiative was committed to ensuring that teachers and students were secure and properly educated in conducive environments.

“A lot of work has been done in the remodelling of the school to ensure that it is properly reconstructed.
“We have completed the technical aspect of the work and the construction plan is ready, in couple of weeks, we will move to site,’’ she said.


The Chibok Area Development Association revealed that it was unfortunate that after 365 days, the girls have yet to be seen.

He said: “We are saying that what we are seeing has fallen short of the expectations of the community. The abduction of the girls kept the community devastated.

“We really want to know what government is doing in this regard; we have been hearing so many stories, we don’t know which one to take.

“Yes, the reconstruction of the schools but one has to be alive to go to school,’’ he said.

The Chibok Girls abduction was met with international criticism of the Nigerian Government.

Jonathan has said that he and the NSA are doing everything possible to get the girls back, but a year later, they are yet to be freed.

Former NYSC DG docked over electoral malpractice in Akwa-Ibom

An attempt to arraigned the for director general of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Maj. Gen. Edet Akpan for electoral malpractices by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Tuesday, suffered a temporary setback.

Gen. Akpan was brought  to the Uyo chief magistrate court to answer to charges bordering on electoral fraud and violence such as snatching of ballots boxes and falsification of election results during the last Saturday’s gubernatorial and state house of assembly’s elections; but the arraignment was stalled because of the three-day no court session in Akwa Ibom state judiciary.

The retired army general who served in the NYSC during the Buhari/Idiagbon military regime, and now believed to be a chieftain of the All Progressive Congress was brought to the court by men of Directorate of State Services, DSS.

Akpan was allegedly arrested in his home town, Nsit Attai, during the April 11 Governorship/ House of Assembly election for allegedly snatching ballot boxes and other electoral materials from INEC officials. He was also alleged to have abducted 10 corps members and made them thumb print and filled result sheets in favour of a political party before men of DSS trailed and arrested him in his house.

The INEC’s inability to arraign Akpan on Tuesday was due to the ongoing Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Multi- Door Court function which is holding simultaneously in the three senatorial districts of the state.

INEC Legal Officer, Mr. Eze Emmanuel, who was in the registry to file the case, said that Akpan would be arraigned as soon as the court resumes from the three days ADR multi door court function.

Meanwhile, the former NYSC boss, was taken back to the DSS custody by its official in Uyo command.

According to media reports, doctors in Maryland, US, found a woman with a very unusual condition; she was born with two vaginas. The woman, described as black, has the vaginas side-by-side but only uses one - for sex. The other one, she's never used before, so that one is still considered a virgin. NNPC Missing Money Traced To A Top Bank

$16million out the $20billion allegedly stolen from the coffers of the Nigeria National Petroleum, NNPC by the management of the corporation have reportedly been refunded by the management of one of the top banks in Nigeria due to fear of prosecution by the incoming government.

According to nairausd.blogspot.com, in the eye of the storm is the embattled Minister of Petroleum, Mrs. Deziani Allison-Madueke, has since commenced on a shuttle between Nigeria and abroad.

Until the conclusion of the presidential election, the minster  had allegedly embarked on shenanigans and illegal stunts in an alleged bid to stop the National Assembly from investigating her roles in the missing  funds.

According to a security source who pleaded anonymity, General Abdulsalami Abubakar, Nigeria’s former head of state pleaded with General Buhari not to prosecute the petroleum minister, a situation which led to the refund of $16milion last week, which was allegedly traced to the bank.

Also, the appointment of the CBN governor may not be unconnected to the sordid transactions between the bank and the Jonathan led administration as the CBN governor was once a managing director in the bank.

Allison-Madueke had allegedly masterminded the CBN governor’s appointment and even handpicked him to occupy the post in a bid to cover up her shady deals.

She is now said to be on ‘medical tourism’ outside the country, a situation which sources revealed is a move to stall her arrest after the 29 May hand over.

 Today April 14th marks the one year anniversary since the abduction of Chibok Girls. On the night of April 14th, early Tuesday April 15th, over 200 female students were kidnapped from the Government Secondary School in the town of Chibok in Borno State, by Boko Haram militants.

The kidnap sparked international condemnation and outrage which gave birth to the famous hashtag, #bringbackourgirls. But 365 days later, our girls haven't been found.

Breaking!!! INEC Interrupts Okorocha’s Victory Dance – Imo Election Result

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has cut short in the early hours of yesterday, the victory dance of the incumbent governor of Imo State and governorship candidate of All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief Rochas Okorocha.

The commission while declaring the Imo State election result said the poll was inconclusive.

The State Returning Officer, SRO, Professor Oyewusi Ibidapo-Obe, who announced the suspension of the process, explained that the action stemmed from the cancellation of 144,715 votes in various polling booths in about 23 local government areas.

Ibidapo-Obe also cited complaints of irregularities that emanated from several polling booths across the 305 wards of the state as part of reason for declaring the election inconclusive.

According to the SRO, Owerri Municipal, Ideato South, Ideato North and Ahiazu Mbaise local government areas would not be subjected to another round of voting.

“All other local government areas had one type of infringement or the other,” the SRO said.

“I shall not do any declaration. We have various cancellations in various units and wards. ‘’The affected polling units in the local governments totalled 144,715. The margin of lead from the two leading parties is 79,529, and because o this figure, this election is inconclusive,” he concluded.

Naira Suffers N3 Lost Against Dollar At Bureaux De Change

The value of the Nigeria’s currency (naira) has yesterday depreciated against the dollar by N3, to close at N208 at the Bureau De Change (BDC) from the N205 it sold for on Friday.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the development was an appreciation following the N224 it sold for before the March 28 presidential election.

This is why INEC can’t cancel Election in Akwa Ibom & Rivers

There are overwhelming evidences of rigging in Rivers and Akwa Ibom states but at this stage the hands of INEC are tired by the law; results have been announced so only the court can rule otherwise.

INEC has confirmed that it has no power to cancel results of the governorship and state Houses of Assembly polls that took place in Rivers and Akwa Ibom states last weekend.

It made this known to Punch a few hours after the European Union Election Observation Mission to Nigeria called for a probe of the “severe problems” that characterised the polls in the two states.

The Chief Press Secretary to the INEC chairman, Kayode Idowu, said those calling on the commission to cancel the results were misdirecting their request.

He explained that once results had been announced by INEC , only election petition tribunals had the power to cancel and order fresh elections.

Idowu said, “The law does not allow us to cancel any result after it has been announced. Everyone knows this.

“It is only the election petition tribunals that can order that or even cancelled the elections. We would advice anyone who is aggrieved to go to the court. “

Also in Abuja on Monday, EU EOM said the elections in Akwa Ibom and Rivers states needed to be probed because of rigging, intimidation and violence.

The Chief Observer of the EU EOM, Santiago Fisas, said at a news conference that even though the elections witnessed “more efficient polling, there were “increased incidents of violence and interference.”

PDP wins C’ River governorship poll

The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Saturday’s governorship election in Cross River State, Prof. Ben Ayade, has been declared winner of the exercise by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Ayade polled a total of 342,016 votes to defeat his closest rival Mr. Odey Ochicha of the All Progressives Congress who secured 53,983 votes.

The Labour Party candidate, Mr. Fidelis Ugbo, came third with 36, 918 votes.

Announcing the result at about 4am on Monday at the INEC office in Calabar, the state returning officer, Prof. Comfort Ekpo, said Ayade emerged the winner having secured above 25 per cent in the 18 local government areas of the state.

Ekpo, who is the Vice Chancellor of the University of Uyo, noted that out of 1,096,781 registered voters only 466, 318 votes were cast for the five political parties that participated in
